Police Reports & Expungements

Information on obtaining accident / incident reports, filing new reports within city limits, open records requests, and criminal history record restriction (expungement) procedures.

Obtaining a Copy of a Milledgeville Police or Accident Report

In Person

You may visit the Milledgeville Police Department from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday to pick up a copy of a report.

Report cost is $10.00 per Accident or Incident Report when paying by money order or exact cash, or $10.00 per Accident or Incident Report when paying by credit/debit.

Note: We cannot process requests for police reports by email or fax.

Online (Accident Reports Only)

For your convenience, accident reports are also available online through BuyCrash.com.

Filing a Police Report

Incident or accident must have occurred within the City of Milledgeville city limits.

By Phone

For emergencies, dial 911.
For non-emergencies, call 478-414-4090 to have an officer dispatched to your Milledgeville location.

In Person

You may visit the Milledgeville Police Department at any time to request that an officer be dispatched to assist you in opening or filing your report.

Open Records Requests

Open records requests for reports and other records may be submitted electronically through our online portal.

You may also email requests to [email protected], or visit the Milledgeville Police Department during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday).

Expungements (Record Restrictions)

Expungement (record restriction) refers to the purging or limiting access to certain criminal history records. Under O.C.G.A. § 35-3-37(d), some criminal history records may be restricted when approved by the prosecuting attorney. The Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) cannot expunge a record without that approval.

Milledgeville Police Department Processing Fee

  • $15.00 processing fee (non-refundable).
  • Payment by money order only payable to “City of Milledgeville”.
  • Paying the fee and submitting a request does not guarantee approval.

Where the Case Was Handled

  • Milledgeville Municipal Court: MPD completes Section 2 and forwards the Request for Expungement to the City of Milledgeville Solicitor. Please allow up to 3 months for processing.
  • Baldwin County Court: MPD completes Section 2 and forwards the Request for Expungement to the Baldwin County Court. Please allow up to 1 year for processing.

Submitting Your Request to MPD

Mail or deliver your completed Request for Expungement form and the $15.00 fee to:

Submitting to GCIC (After Approval)

Once you receive an approved Request for Expungement, you are responsible for forwarding the approved Request Form, plus an additional $25.00 fee (money order or certified check payable to “Georgia Bureau of Investigation”) to the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC).
