A division of the City of Milledgeville Police Department established to enforce city ordinances and building codes. As a Georgia P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training) certified officer individuals in this division have the authority to issue citations, make arrest, collect evidence, and testify in a court of law.
Code Enforcement Role
Is responsible for the enforcement of construction codes and ordinances for the city. This work includes onsite inspections of residential and commercial properties. In addition, a code enforcement officer has the authority to issue written citations and testify in a court of law for said offenses. Code enforcement officers strive to ensure safety in the community and their jurisdictions remain appealing for businesses, property owners, and residents.
