Milledgeville Police Department Special Response Team (S.R.T.)
The Special Response Team is under the direction of a commander, Major Linc Boyer, whom is appointed by the Chief of Police. The commander will appoint a tactical commander and two team leaders. The team is trained in handling the following situations that may occur.
High risk Situations
Hostage Situations
Barricaded Persons
Crowd Situations
Pre-planned Arrest
VIP Protection
Search Warrant Execution
The Special Response Team also provides charitable contributions to the community to include community service and attending community oriented events.
Minimum eligibility to the Special Response Team:
6 months patrol service (not including Field Training Time)
Scored Tactical Physical Fitness Test
Scored Tactical Shooting Course
90% or Higher (270) Pistol Qualification on POST Certified Course
Good standing with department for assigned division
S.R.T. Required Standards
Attend training a minimum two times per month unless excused by the Commander or Team Commander
Availability for on call response situations with little to no notice
Perform regular physical fitness both team and individual based
Maintain good standing with the department within assigned division
