Milledgeville Police Department

The Milledgeville Police Department consist of 67 employees, 42 of which are sworn police officers.  The department is a progressive law enforcement agency and earned state certification in 2001 by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.  The department is 1 of only 76 agencies that have achieved this distinction in Georgia. 

Certification is an indication on the department’s commitment to effectively serve the Milledgeville community.  Over 100 standards and procedures are used to ensure efficient departmental procedures and operations as well as provide increased protection for the citizens of Milledgeville.

Certification provides personal growth for police officers along with a sense of pride and commitment to community service. Accreditation requires team effort and spirit to maintain and uphold standards of operations.
